I have a lifted 06 FX4 super cab wit a 6.5 bed and i would say go with the FX4... I'm turning 35 inch tires i also have the edge box throttle body spacer K&N air intake flowmaster 3' exhaust.... i love this truck.. i also pull a 30 ft Toy hauler camper and a 17 ft car trailer.... Great truck.. The 3.73 gears are good to go...
I vote the FX4 just because I wouldn't want to tear up that KR with what I use my truck for.
Another thing you might think about too, if it matters to you, is the warranty. The KR has 7k left on the factory warranty and the FX has 2k left. You can check build dates on both to see where you're at there too with the warranties. Just something else to think about.
Update.........Well the KR is in my driveway tonight. Salesguy is a family friend and if he didn't hide it would be gone quickly. Work kept me from going into see it today, so he brought it home with him.(lives nearby)
Here's what i know;
White/Gold, plastic bedliner, moonroof. dual exhaust. Interior has a few marks etc.. all else looks stock. Will get a better look in the A.M. Price now 24k OTD. Free lifetime oil changes too! wow!
Guess i should have started out by saying the FX4 has been sold
CONGRATULATIONS !!! You know it really didn't matter which truck you got. When you picked an F150, you already made the right choice. Enjoy your new truck!!!
It was mentioned above that the KR does not have the skid plates the fx4 has and my 06KR has the skid plate package and the 3.73 LS, so yours may as well. Good luck
I just paid $16k for a '06 F-150 XLT Scab with Long Bed and 37k on it...I have blue and I like it with the grey trim...you get what you want but seems little pricy...just my $.02
