FT exhaust gaskets part #

Bill, or anyone in the know...

I'd like to use these to repair the leaky chit on Slick #2 (Mellow Yellow) if I can find them. The set that came with my 352 kit I used when the FE ones spat out in short order (6 mo.) I used the FT ones as they were handy and no issues since. Made a call to NAPA today and the guy said he didn't have a item# for them (Target vehicle was 72' F600/361 or 391) So would GreenSales or somene have these ?

Thanks

Felpro number is MS95001. Availlable through NAPA.
Most NAPA stores have very little for listings on med/hvy trucks but can get the parts if they can figure out what to order.

If NAPA doesn't have them, try ENGLER BROTHERS Auto Parts in Santa Monica: 310-450-7531.

This is the best indie autoparts store in SoCal.

I orded those today, then got curious and Googled that part #. Those "DO NOT" look like they will fit an FE at all. I'm unsure what the item is I want and only know that the 352 kit through MadDogg Racing(ebay) came with 2 sets of exhaust gaskets. One was the type that came(solo) with the ROL kit for the 390... flimsy *** thin crap. The other was a at least twice as thick and had smaller ports but a wider surface area around the port.

Maybe these were for the MD 330 engines or ? **** I wish I had taken a pict of those. Oh hell I did now that I recall!!

standard ones from the 352 kit:

The ones I'd like to use on the new slick:

Any Ideas?

Maybe I'm concerned about nothing ? the google search gave me this site with the images of some gaskets. However upon closer inspection "all the images are the same WTF? http://www.theautopartsshop.com/Auto...asket-Set.html

Looking at ebay for a set of FE exhaust gaskets I see that a set of MS95000 Look like FE gaskets. Item number: 200262609190

Click on pictures for larger view.

I dug through my extra gaskets and came up with these.

The top ones are the 95001 heat shield gaskets for the FT.
The second ones are the same thing but for the FE.
The bottom ones are the other more common style for the FT.
The ones you posted are the more common ones for the FE.

The FE heat shields arew stamped FelPro on them so they may also still be available through NAPA or other FelPro sources. I don't know but will do some checking with Napa.

The main difference between the FT and FE gaskets is a small difference in port size ,the FT's have the exhaust crossover ports in them which should not bother and the FT's are taller. They would probably work but the sealing ridge at the ports might not seal against the head ot manifold because of the size missmatch.

I think it would be worth the trouble to find the correct ones for the FE if they are still available.

Richard

PS the second pic shows the FE's on top of the FT's for a comparison. You can see the port size diff and the height diff.

Well at least I know I'm not getting a round holed gasket now LMAO!! I wonder why they offered two different style gaskets in the one kit. The ones in the second pict have been just fine. The ones in the first pict lasted maybe 6 mo but had failed(were compromised) long before that. I'll see if NAPA can fix me up with something else if these are a bad port match. We'll carry a log with me for reference. Thanks for the added intel, much appreciated.

I just check and MS95000 is the Fel Pro # for the FE heat shields and they are still available through NAPA.
