OK I can't get the search function to work right now and I have spent the better part of 3 hours going back through my history list trying to find a company I saw online last night that makes both the front and rear part for a 53 fender patch panel for the rear fenders. They looked like good quality and were about 35 dollars each. Anyone know who this might be? Yeah I know I should have bookmarked it! You should see my book marks under ford truck!!!!
Also I'm just asking what would you do? My bed is in poor shape and needs lots of work. I will have to buy a complete tailgate as I don't have one and lots of rust repair. Best I can figure it will cost me a little over 600.00 to repair mine or I can get the complete bed from Mar-k for a little over 1200. with free shipping. It also looks like a good quality bed. What would you do??????? Thanks for your input.
MIdfifty sells the patch panels for the rear fender.
If your bed sides and front panel are rough I would opt for new a new bed. It will take hours to get the bedsides straight. Use you time doing something else unless of course you love bodywork.
I saw the ones at Mid Fifties and I'm sure they are of good quality but you can't tell much from a drawing. I saw some somewhere that was an actual jpeg that looked good. Hopefully the search function will come back up soon and I'll find the link again. I have little experience with body work. The sides are in pretty good shape but thats about it. No front panel or tailgate. Two cross sills are new, rest are rust. I'm leaning toward the new bed.

Reason: spelling
Buy the new bed, it will look great and last a lifetime! That's money that you will never regret having spent. I bought one of the 14 ga beds from MidFifty, the manufacturer is local so I saved the shipping and picked it up myself. If Mar-K will sell you the complete bed and ship for free then it's a no-brainer.
