I've been reading dahre85's thread about his truck shaking. My truck has the same issues so I did the drivers side harness the other day, took the valve cover off, etc... and all seemed to be within the ohm numbers on his thread. I cleared all codes and my check engine light went off(for a day). Light is on again so i started on the passenger side harness an hour ago. all readings are good for injectors but i'm only getting .1 ohm readings on gp terminals. whats next? The glow plugs shouldnt be the cause for the truck to shake at 40-50 mph should they?

No, the glow plugs won't affect anything at 40-50 mph. Is the shaking a come and go thing, or is it constant? The down side to the ohm test is if you just have a loose plug and it only runs bad sometimes, you kind of need to test it when it's running bad.
How bad of a shake is it, and is it only at 40 - 50 mph? A loose connector will make the motor shake like a paint shaker at idle or any speed. If you've just got a miss (like 1 cylinder) at certain speeds it may be an injector itself acting up.
I'd start by setting the edge back to stock and see if that makes any difference. Any other codes besides the P1316?

GPs will not make your truck shake. Besides those readings are ok. Does it do this shaking with the Edge removed? Does it shake beyond 50 MPH?
Edit: Chris, Your typing speed as increased! You find a couple more fingers somewhere.
it only seems to shake between 40-50 and mostly noticeable when it is in overdrive. As far as the edge I will try putting it back together and reprogram it to stock and see what I get
Check the time stamp. I had 23 minutes to sneak that one in.
Now that's funny.
It took me 25 minutes to sneak one in.

Post back after your "stock" test drive.
Edit: Also note the RPM range when the truck shakes. Run it with the Edge removed!!! If Possible.
Sounds to me like you're chasing a driveline issue, not engine. If it were engine related, you should be able to duplicate the issue in any gear at the same RPM range.
If you get up to 50 and it starts shaking, what happens if you let your foot off the accelerator? What happens if you shift into neutral and coast? What happens if you speed up past 50? Have you checked the drive shaft and carrier bearing for play?
the driveline has been gone through recently and is good. The shaking that I get is only between 40-50 mph and seems to happen before the truck shifts. It seems like it thinks it is under load or doesnt know to shift so it makes it sound like the motor is bogging. It sounds like the motor "diesels", chatters, I guess thats what it's called. When it does it I can push the od botton to off and it almost eliminates it to where it is way softer or less noticable.
Make sure to clear the codes after you set it back to stock and let us know what happens then. P1316 doesn't seem to match your symptoms, but if it comes back when the truck is stock, that will point us in the right direction.

Hey Chris,
Gotta give props out to you and your knowledge.. You hit it right on the head. I changed it back to stock mode cleared the codes, check engine light stayed off after starting, drove it for 20 min or so on residential streets so i could go in and out of different speeds and got no shaking or sputtering at 40- 50 mph at all!!! So thanx a million for that. I almost hope I have another problem do to the fact that this site actually makes truck problems intersting and enjoyable to repair and the $20 fte supporter fee is so worth the info one can obtain from this site. ? on the programmer. Is it possible for the evolution to be repaired or is it time to switch to the dp tuner?
Thanks Again

You could probably send it off to be repaird, but that would be like patching a leak on a bald tire. I believe DP-Tuner has a buy one get one free sale going on right now with their tunes. Hang on to your code reader there and give Jody a call.
Remember you're free to hang around and read the threads even if you're truck is running well. Reading through others problems really helps you understand how these motors work, and before you know it, you'll be the one spitting out the answers.
Thanks for the advice. I do read this site nightly because it is so interesting. You said something about judy. Not sure who she is? can you give me the link for her.

Jody is a he, and is one of our sponsors. He offers one of the best chips/tuners you can put in your truck for about the same price as the cheap off the shelf tuners. DP-Tuner.com
