Drive shaft components...
Before I spend what may turn out to be a waste of time, I thought I'd post this to see if anyone knows a link or source.
Twenty+ years ago when we lived out in the country I used to build a lot of one of a kind stuff and I made quite a few drive shafts. At that time the local independant parts store had a Spicer catolog that listed all the various drive shaft components by specs of size as opposed to listing by application. Since that time that place and it's parent parts warehousing company have been bought up by some Canadian conglomerant. I suppose they have made certain changes to try and compete with the likes of Auto-Zone and in that process they have decided that this sort of catalog listing system is no longer of any value to them.
Recently when I was in the place I asked if they still had those type of listing catalogs for Spicer and I got that typical deer in the headlights look from computer driven parts droid behind the counter followed by the usual question about what vehicle is it for. When I tried to explain, it caused an instant system crash for them droid.
I can't believe Spicer dose not publish this type of catalog. I was wondering if anyone here has any knowledge of a link or source to this sort of listing. Eventually I will attempt some sort of search but a heads up from someone that has already done this would be a real time saver. Possibly there is something online in a PDF format.
Thanks in advance to anyone that might be able to help with this.

also check with your local 4 x 4 shops, they should or will know what you are looking for as they make custom driveshafts all the time.
also check your local yellow pages for driveline repair shops. there are 2 or 3 here in Edmonton that specialize in custom driveshafts mostly for semis and construction equipment but they also do car driveshafts (had mine shortened by one of the local shops).
also if that fails, try a place called Allpower Transmission out of Green Bay WI. very good company to deal with and cheap. buy lots of custom driveshafts for standby pumps for work from them. even with shipping and difference in dollars, they are still way cheaper than local companies.

I did plan on checking their site but I thought I would check here just in case someone already had the URL. I'll check those other places. I want to do my own work because I have a machine and welding shop here. No sense in paying sombody else to do what I can do myself.
