I'm from the Northeast US and I've lived here all my life. I can't argue with you because we have some pretty arrogant people up this way. However, I'm from a small town where people actually have values and help those in need and I personally hate stupid people. You handled it better than I would've.

Several of these comments are the #1 rant of professional truck drivers, I used to be one and I can't tell you the number of times I came close to running over some idiot that had cut me off. Want to tick off one of those want-to-be ricers? When you see them trying to pass you, stomp down on the skinny pedal and make 'em work for it...if they're able to pass you at that point.

As far as where I park, I like my truck and when I park near the front it never fails that the idiot with the POS rust bucket thinks he's got to park 6" off the side of my truck will pull in after I go inside. Because of that and the fact that the rig pushes 20 foot long I choose to park in the back of the lot. Beside the doctor has told me several times that I need to walk more...guess you could say I'm following Doctor's orders.

Y'all think you got it bad? Come down the Houston and drive around the Spring/Woodlands area where I live; it's the worse part! They KNOW they drive slow, but will pull out in the fast lane (instead of the slow lane) like you're supposed to slow down for them.

I was coming home late one night, was out with some friends, and headed home tired. I'm doing the speed limit 45mph and I see this import coming up fast behind me. Don't know where the fire is, but he's in a hurry. Instead of passing me like he should, he decides to ride my bumper (strike 1)..... He slows down, puts his highbeams on and points them at my mirror trying to blind me (strike 2) I do the courteous thing: slow down and wave him by, nope! He insists on riding my bumper (strike 3 you're out!) I'd had enough so I centered my exhaust right in front of his car, mash it, and take off! (Y'all already know) Thick, black smoke covers his little import!

He slows down, starts flashing his lights, and decides he wants to chase me down for something he did. To his surprise, I wasn't afraid to put my foot to the floor and go. He couldn't keep up so he just hung back and went about his business. Smart move...

The other day my buddy Patrick and I are ridin' in his 'burb and someone just goes out of thier way to do something stupid. We're cruisin at about 50 going through the light and some jackass in a honda accord decides to turn out right in front us! He was stopped, saw us barelling down the road, and he decides to turn out because he doesn't want to wait. My buddy Patrick was more pissed than I was! He didn't bother slowing down, instead he just kept coming right at him and stopped within an inch (literally) of his bumper!

July of 2007 I rear ended somebody because they were being stupid. I'm coming up to the light slowing down from 45 and this guy in a VW Jetta is supposed to make a right turn at the light.. The light is GREEN and he has the right of way, but what does he do? He sits there staring at the other cars while I can bet drivers at the other light are waving and pointing telling him to go. I'm in the right hand lane thinking he was going to go when he's supposed to, but instead he's sitting there. Needless to say I hit him (it was wet and I hydroplaned) and he wants to sit in his car for 30 mins pulling a Huey Long saying: "I wonder why he hit me?".

I normally don't get "charged" like that, but my thing is: I just can't stand slow and stupid people (when it comes to driving).

I've been thru houston 1 time and that was just on I-10 heading to San Antone about 1230 in the morning, pouring down rain, and people were still doing 80 miles an hour(I know I had to in order not to get run over).

Oh you'll love this about slow drivers here. I'm hauling a trailer with about 46 8-10' white pines and ma and pa kettle are waiting at a stop sign down the road a piece a good 5 minutes plenty of time to get out in front of me, but noooooo they have to wait til I'm almost right by them, swerve on out and then procede to drive 35 in a 55! I damn near plowed right through them. There was a time that I could eventually pass them and I did. I just wish I had the race tune in instead of the tow tune as the tow tune doesn't have it were I can just be rollin that "coal" out the ole exhaust.

That happens alot with me rather I'm pulling a trailer or not and then I just have to get around them because they don't want to do the speed limit. Now I can understand about not being able to see around a big truck(I don't like that about semi's and mack's), but if your going to get out in front of me and almost cause an accident in the process of doing that, make damn sure you're atleast going to be doing the speed limit.

Thats funny man, I find in GP, and Fort Mac, there is alot of inconsiderate people. I dont know how many times in Fort Mac, I had to get in a guys face for driving crap. I always try to be polite off the start, but I definately dont hesitate to let it escalate either.

I drive a tractor/trailer up there so its a little different then what the OP mentioned, but I always have parking problems with the Kenworth. I always feel like just pushing guys outta the way!

It's still a size issue. And what got me was that the guy's woman was pretty open and quick with her mouth with someone that is a total stranger. Those that don't know me all that well, have at times thought I was a little messed up in the head(which I may be since I deal with horses, have to be a little crazy to do that) and she was just pretty quick with her wit, despite the fact that they were the ones parking illegal and they were the ones that were in a vehicle with a banged up side mirror, she questioned my driving skills.

My g/f was just getting nervous about it because she knows that when my mouth starts going, I don't know when to stop(and all y'all don't act that surprised, I've typed on here long enough for all y'all to know that(and some have even mentioned it)) especially when I was being polite at first.

The guy did have some words after he moved, but I'm actually wondering if he did that to safe face with his girl or not. I dunno. My blood pressure is starting to rise again. I wasn't any angel in this either, but they were just plain ignorant(of course they are probably thinking the same of me) and it seems like more and more people are getting this way. Reminds me of an article I read where this new generation of kids is actually dumber then the previous one and considering what I've been experiancing lately, I do believe it's true.

I dont blame ya at all for getting p1ssed though. The way you act (or talk about the way you act) sure sounds familiar to myself.

I know you pull those horses around with your truck too, and like myself, I bet you could tell stories all day about inconsiderate drivers while you are towing.

Seems like they hand out drivers licenses in cracker jacks boxes now a days, and common courtesy are slim to non existent!

I have noticed that smaller towns arent half as bad as a larger city though.

My mom says that I'm like her father. Happy go lucky until someone pisses me off and it might seem a small thing to some people, but for some reason some things just get me going and I don't forget it either. It could be yrs later and I'll still remember it and still mention it and I'll get heated just about the same as if it happened that day.

Here is another one for you. I was pulling the horse trailer. I was in the right lane(it was right turn only), but I was as far left in the lane that I could be without getting into the lap of the person next to me so I could swing wide and make the turn without worrying about anything. Well this jackass decides to fill up the space that I had left to make that turn, so he was able to make the turn before I did. Now that one I did just let go, didn't honk or anything(although I wish I had done something now), so I guess that's why I'm quick to temper and let people know about the dumb things they do because in the back of my mind I'm thinking of that incident. I dunno.

I agree with you there, although this did happen in the wonderful small town of Tullahoma TN so it's making the rounds to rural places as well. Give it time.

70 years ago it was way easier to get a license, still is easy but all my grandpa had to do was buy a car, drive it for a couple days then go tell the license bureau what he could do and they gave him his license.

would have done the exact same thing. I usually try to refrain from responding to other people like that though because I haven't met a girl that didn't have an issue with my yelling or cussing or just how I sound when I get mad. lol Love dumping the black smoke on drivers I can't stand.

You ought to meet a chick that acutally encourages it.

I was driving down 249 to go meet a buddy mine and a guy and his girl in his Duramax pull up next to me at the light. We pretend like we don't see each other, but as the light changed we "test' one another to see who's gonna do what. We hit the on ramp cool, calm and somehow end up next to each other. I mash it, so does he and before you know it we're doing about 100 each. (His stock Duramax Vs. My Modded Powerstroke) After flying by a few cars and having a little fun on the freeway, I head for my exit and his girl waves and gives me the thumbs up! We give the usual "good race" honk and go our seperate ways.
