Aftermarket Head Unit 2003 Excursion

Have a 2003 4x4 Excursion EB with Rear DVD ( no wireless head phones ).

CD 6 Player crashed, ate my cds, and is now in garbage.

Want to purchase new Head Unit ( CD, Navigation, Bluetooth, Ipod, etc... ).

However I have read that my rear DVD player will no longer work.
Looking for a work around to disconnect the Rear DVD from the Head Unit
and have it function on it own. Only use the Center Console Ear Phones any
way, so I don't need the sound to go through the Stereo Speakers.

Does anyone have any experience with this.

Thx in Adavance

If you go to any custom shop they should be able to splice into the cable and run it off of an external DVD player or from the head unit. You could get an Alpine IVA-W505 and that will do everything you would like it to do.

A great head unit.

indeed a great head unit (w505). That's where my tax check is going. although crutchfield doesn't carry it anymore so I'm thinking alpine will have a new model by the time tax season comes around. I'm kind of a last minute kinda guy when it comes to taxes.
