Just replaced turbo inter cooler, a/c condensor & radiator - when idling for some time start to hear sucking noise around intake and turbo wheel whines/vibrates. What could be causing this?
1999 F550 Superduty 7.3L diesel - rollback Was in accident - front end damage to turbo, radiator, a/c condensor, water pump & fan clutch all needed to be replaced. The fan has not been installed yet.

My goodness. That is a lot of damage. If you have a early 99' you could hear the turbo itself. That turbo has the ww wheel from the factory. I don't think you would feel a vibration from the turbo. Check your boots on the IC pipes and the spider. I really can't figure this out with the information you are giving.
What we hear is more of a sputtering in the intake. The idle does go up high when it does this. The tempature has been in the 30 - 40 degree range. The truck was sitting for 5 months without running at all. Hitting the accelerator does bring the idle back down. The sputtering/sucking sound is not constant it comes and goes. We have driven a small distance and it lack power. We realize this is more than we can troubleshoot ourselves and our last resort is sending it to a dealer.
When it's cold outside and the engine is cold, the EBPV (exhaust back pressure valve) closes and the engine will idle up. You commonly get a noise that kind of sounds like a jet engine when this is going on. Drive the truck around and get it up to full operating temp and see if it idles better after that.
If you're issue is only at high idle, you may just be hearing normal sounds.
