Well I kept myself pretty busy today. I changed oil, which is the first time I have since installing the Fumoto valve. Other than it taking longer to drain I'm liking it. It allows me to drain it back into old clean oil jugs to be reused. I changed my coolant filter which was stopped up again. This will be the third filter I have run since the install. I changed my extra fuel filter. I had a pic of what I drained out but it was with my cellphone, and the quality was crappy. But I had a lot of trash and water, so it is doing it's job. I think I may have finally gotten my exhaust to quit rubbing things for good. I used a couple stainless hose clamps on the hangers, to hold it over in the rubber mounts so it wont move. I replaced one of the bulbs in my auxiliary backup lights. And now for the Grand Finale....I finally figured out my problem with my ESOF hubs...I know, I know, I'm just to hardheaded to give up on them yet(A note to anyone that reads this..Unless you want to go through the problems I've had just save yourself the headache and replace them with some Warns, or plug the vacuum lines and use them manually, it'll save you money in beer in the long run). All they needed was some grease shot down in them and they have been working fine. I had posted on this awhile back and I thought I was losing vacuum but come to find out the tester I was using was leaking around the hose on it and it was not my hub o-rings. I shot some Lithium grease down into the white plastic mechanism that works them and they are working fine for now. I also changed my CCV filter and it's doing it's job also. Sorry for this being so long. Just figured I'd share my experiences with this stuff.
Good deal Lee. You were busy. Yesterday while going down a straight road, I put it in 4x4 and drove for awhile. Keep the front end working, good to hear you are keeping the ESOP hubs. I love mine.
man that sounds like a busy day. i ordered my coolant filter on friday. im going with a wix haed and a fleetgaurd filter. where'd you do your install, what lines i mean. ive seen a couple and im not real sure. yours sounds like it works.
Did you do that into both autohubs or just one? If one, howd you narrow it down?!
I did it in both hubs but the driverside was my main problem. The driverside would remain locked even with no vacuum and sometimes wouldnt lock in at all. WITHOUT the truck moving, stick your hand in and see if you can turn the axlejoint without having the truck in 4x4. I know your smart enough to know better but I figured I had better include that one here because I forgot about it in another post a made a week or so ago.

I'm going to hang on to them for a while longer. I'm just hardheaded. When they are working right I'm happy and all is well and when they are not I'm ready to throw them out in the road and run over them, then set them afire.

Here's some pics of mine.
Just let me know if you have any questions about anything in particular. The last picture is of the thermostat housing, it may look a little different from yours because my radiator hose is not routed through the serpentine belt. It goes around.
I was almost ashamed to post these pics in here Rick after seeing more pics of yours. Then I figured, hell, it doesnt look any worse than the rest of the truck right now. Waiting on another warm day to give it a bath.
Glad to here just a couple shots of grease helped you with the hubs, with the track record of these systems have. I love my shift on the fly system also. Like the coolant filter setup, looks good, better yet, function.
Like I said before Mike, somedays I'm standing there with a can full of gas and a hand full of matches.....just waiting. I love the principal of them, just wish they would work right all the time. We''ll see now.

. As long as you don't strike the matches. Don't worry about the looks of the engine, as long as it runs right.
Where did you squirt the grease. Mine did not lock up one day so I had to put it in 4WD by hand and I could tell it was tight. I got home and put some WD-40 to it and turned them in and out by hand until it worked easy and they work okay now but I know WD-40 was just a quick temp fix they need some grease.
Take the snap ring off and pop the hub out. If you look down in the backside there is a white plastic/nylon looking piece and I squirted the grease in the two holes in that piece and all around inside that. I used some white Lithium grease. Not real sure how it will do in the long term but it's got them working for now. Here is a link to how to do it properly.Welcome to guzzle's 4x4 Autolock Hub Lubrication Maintenance Web Page
