If you dont mind me asking, how much is jasper charging for the rebuild? The cost of rebuilding/replacing these is the sole reason I opted to cummins swap mine.
I am spending roughly 20k for entire project. This will include twin turbos, entire new injection system, torque converter, wiring, new burner, entire engine, trans, fuel, oil cooling systems, trans service, and the engine.
Holy cow! I dont love the 6.4 enough to spend that kind of money. My cummins swap will cost just over 10k. It would be less for a used engine but I'm rebuilding one myself. All new internals, bore and hone, upgraded rods and valve springs etc.
I get that. But, I really love everything about this truck. Interior and extras like new. Quiet and a powerful rig. Been towing 20,000lb loads occasionally and have a 36ft fifth wheel travel trailer at 12,000 lbs. can’t see spending 80k to get one just as good plus no DEF !

Are you doing de-lipped pistons to avoid cracking? Any preventative things?
My concern is will they be rebuilding your engine or are you going to get someone else’s abused problems.
i spoke to a few rebuild places and they would not rebuild mine becuase they have a few ready to go and they claim that it’s rare when critical parts pass .
