First I'd like to thank Motorhead351, and Harte3 for all the info you guys have been helping me with. I hope to have the engine together and ready to drop in a few weeks.
I went and bought a MSD 6a box and a TFI coil. It looks pretty easy to connect, with the wire adapter I got for it. Of course I'm still taking the dizzy to the guy to have it re-curved, etc., but was wondering if you might have any tips to help.
The engine is a '78, which is going in a '75. I plan to hook the box as a stand alone.
Only other thing I can think of is using efi spark plugs, they are longer than the carb'd versions, that is the tip extends further into the chamber. there is some opinions that use of, may improve combustion~efficiency~power.
Although with your wanting to use flat top or higher comp pistons, youd wanna double check spark plug tip to piston top clearance, Which could be done during assembly using putty, much like checking valve clearance.
And if you wanted to get super technical, you could index the spark plugs so the orientation is more ideal for air/fuel combustion.
Just make sure your dizzy guy has the engine info...cam, induction, compression ratio, usage of the vehicle, etc., so he can curve the dizzy accordingly.
