ALLDATAdiy.com has a few TSB's about Vibrations at various speeds for your F150. Most of them start at the tires. Drive 20 miles at highway speeds. This will eliminate any flat spots on the tires from the vehicle sitting. After that look at balancing the tires. You may possibly have excessive runout.

Is your F150 stock height? It sounds like your driveline angles might be off when towing as well.
Do any of you have limited slip? Its worth checking. My truck had the same vibs loaded and very little unloaded ended up being limited slip packings. Works great now...
