What are these for?

Hi guys. When I bought this truck it was absolutely plain. The previous owners didn't touch it. I think the only thing they ever did to the truck was put bucket seats in it at some point, but that is it. With that said, what do you all think these are? I'm doubtful they are factory. Are they? I've never seen an F1 with these lights. T here's also a hole that apears to be a spot a light used to reside, but fell out?

Another thing, these lights have never came on.

Edit: Sorry about the size of the pictures. Got a new computer and don't know how to operate the picture sizing system.

I am going to guess that they have to do with a alarm or automatic start system...

My guess would be a former security system.

That would make sense. I haven't found any clues to what these are. Secuirty sounds right, though. This truck was loved and taken care of by it's previous owners. The windows weren't even tinted, but I can see Sarge installing a security system.

Those trim strips that the lights are placed in do pop out. If you take a small screwdriver and pry ever so slightly around the edges they'll pop off, they simply snap back into place when your done.

Maybe do a little detective work, pop the trim strips off and see if there is any wires running to the lights. If you see wires follow them and see where they go. My guess would be a former security system as well but you never know.

I vote alarm system as well
Like Jimbo says, those trim pieces pop right out.
If the lights bother you, just fill the holes or get a replacement piece(s).
I don't imagine that they would cost much. Hell, I've got a set I'd give you if you were closer

They don't bother me. I've had the truck about four years now and I'm just now posting about it, if they tells you anything. I was just thinking about it and it started driving me nuts. I thought one of you guys might know.

Thanks everyone!

I know what you mean about rattles Bill, Makes me crazy....
There's a new thread right there....."Rattles & their fixes"

Mine is not too bad....but the seat head rests are gonna go right out the window one day.....
As for those pieces, I have had mine out a few times to remove other parts(screws are hidden behind these pieces). They are very easy to remove, not likely you can break anything(unless you're using a prybar vs a screwdriver), and they pop back in just as easy and I highly doubt it will ever rattle.
Having said that, It couldn't hurt if folks think you have an alarm system. If the guts are gone, I would even go as far as to power up the red light so that it is visible in the dark.

...............Of course In your neck of the world, you have the right to bear arms.

Glad to know I'm not the only guy on here who has a noisy cab! You know what really drive me crazy? You know where the dash connects to the cab via a peice of metal on the passenger side? That peice of metal broke off. I put a block of wood underneath to help with the rattling, but it still annoys me at times.
Yeah, I don't really care about the lights. I'm just very very curious as to their purpose.
I may have the right to bear arms, but I'd sure be in a pickle if I ever shot anyone in self defense. My best bet would be to kill someone to stay safe legally but I don't want to kill anyone. Guns laws only keep honest folk from having guns. This is a conversation for another thread, though!
