7.3 non turbo diesel

I have a 7.3 no turbo diesel what could I do to give it more power I know these motors are not speed demons but I just want to add power also could you add a turbo on a non turbo engine,thanks

Adding a turbo is the way to go. Just drop down a tad from here and read/post in the pre-powerstroke section for all the advice you will ever need. Great guys there with plenty who have fitted turbos.

welcome to FTE, and the diesel forums.

a turbo will wake that engine up.

another less expensive way to get a little more out of it is to open up the air intake, and get rid of the muffler.

stop by the pre-powerstroke IDI diesel forum, down the page about 7 listings. there are alot of real smart people there, and can answer just about any question you can think up.

anyone konw where i can get a cheap diesel that runs besides on craigslist i traded my 90 non turbo and i want another one

try ebay, also local auto shopper OR you can always go by some farms. every good farmer has an ol idi.

Thanks for the advice i have been checking on craigslist but havent found anything that really wanted to make me write the huge check for it so ill keep looking.
