I have a 89 F-150 2WD 300 6 cylinder. I want to put a body lift or a suspension lift on. And I was wondering if anyone had a Trail Master lift kit on their truck. How dose it hold up and will it give me any promblems later on. What's best the suspension lift or the body lift. Thanks.
To my knowledge, Trailmaster does not make a susoension lift the a 2wd F150, but they do have a body lift. You can also check with ProComp, SuperLift, FabTech (if you're rich), Rancho, Rough Country, etc. They all offer lifts for 2wd F150's.
As for the body or suspension question, it depends alot on how you're going to use your truck. If all you want is clearence for larger tires, go for the body.......but if you want better handling and articulation for off-road get a suspension kit. You can get a basic Suspension kit starting at $500 and up, but I would reccommend getting the upgrades kit with extended radius arms. This will give you lock-to-lock steering w/o rub, and gives you (in general) about a 30% increase in front wheel travel.
