So Yesterday I got a check engine light...but I didnt get the chance to have it scanned....
Today I hook up my plow and go out plowing and the truck stalls almost every time I come to a stop or shift into reverse. Also, it feels like the gas pedal at a stop isnt working. When I am stopped and in neutral....i give it gas slowly and steadily and by the time the gas pedal is like halfway to the floor the idle starts to rise....VERY unresponsive. When I am actually moving the gas pedal is very responsive.
I dont know if the three issues (Check engine / Stalling / Gas Pedal response) are even related but I thought I would see if anyone has any ideas.
Ok, I brought the truck to a repair friend of mine with a $4000 Snap-on scanner. He got a code Idle Air Control Sensor....so I called ford told them I have a 2005 V10 and they said thre is no IAC sensor in that vehicle that its "drive by wire". They want $140 to diagnose the prob but cant get to it for 1.5 weeks. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED truck keeps stalling out at a stop!!
Well I have no expertise in this, but I'll throw this out for debate, if only because I personally like to eliminate the simple explanations before paying for the expensive ones....
Could the injectors be partially plugged/ restricted? It seems to me that this fits your description, where pressing on the pedal at idle is very sluggish. Given that you don't apparently have any other choices, I'd throw a good concentration of cleaner in the gas and rev it up good on some interstate ramps and see whether there's any improvement?
Try the air bypass valve. I had to have mine replaced under warranty. It kept sticking on me. It would do the same thing. But you also might want to change fuel filter.

2005+ Triton engines do not have Idle Air Control valves, or as you said, air bypass valves.
My 04 F350 V10 does the same thing, took it to aoyozone and they used a scanner on it, the code that came up was P0304. definition came back as misfire detected on #4 cylinder, probable causes are
1-Ignition system fault-spark plug(s),ignition wires, coil
2-Vacuum leak
3-Injector fault
4-High or low fuel pressure.
I changed the fuel filter and spark plugs and still does the same thing.
Goinna change the coil wire on the spark plug tomorrow!
How do you check fuel pressure?
