Some of you guys when you post your town and state shows up on the right next to the post number. How do you do this.

Almost to Tucumcari on 40 West out of Amarillo.
And not to far from the roughest road I was ever on in my truck way back in the 70's.

Took a little short cut from Amarillo to Pueblo, ran across 87 to I 25.

I had to stop every two or three miles up 87 in NM to hook my chains and binders back on the headache rack.

That is the only road I ever shook them off on when I was running a flatbed.

Also the last time I ever used 87 as a short cut.
287 to Lamar and then 50 West is longer, but you can stay on the seat while driving.

Now you wasn't bypassing the scales were you or is that just the way I think.
87 wasn't nearly as bad last few times I was on it but it has been awhile.
We have the scale house here so most truckers that run west know where were at.

No, I was deadheading to Pueblo to pick up a load of steel.

I wish I was heavy, at least the road would have been smoother.

1967 Diamond T with that famous Henderson 48,000 pound rubber block suspension.

No springs, no give and if things were not anchored by at least three bolts, it was flying around inside the cab at every pot hole or expansion joint.

That was my first real hot rod diesel.
335 Cummins, straight pipe stacks, custom tune tune on the rack and the rail pressure jacked up with a double over 15 speed.

It wasn't real nice in the paint department, but it would run with the big boys.

I sure have been tinkering and tweaking on diesels a long time, that was 36 years ago.

dave and star how hard is it to be a trucker. my mom use to drive truck know. she a nurses she said the the linces test was the hardest. test she ever took. u guy happy i used periods and mad sentices lol.

A couple years ago I was in arizona goofing off with a friend when he turned down a job. It was only a three day job but he was just getting started in the dirt business so I ask why he said he didn't have a driver I said I could hang out a few days and I would do the job for him. I didn't get 2 blocks from his yard and pulled over on a SMOOTH road to see what was under that truck I thought they outlawed rubber pads years ago damn I had forgotten how rough they were.

No, I was looking an a new Mack last year, they still have the rubber block suspension on the Mack version of the Henderson.

We are in the middle of coal country here.
Those coal bucket drivers love their Macks and the Hendersons.

I could not stand either one.
