I got the 64' truck that will need some tires to get it ready for the road. This weekend is 1/2 price at the parts yard and sometimes they have decent tires there 5.00-7.00 a piece on the special weekends.
On it now are
Front: P235/75/R15
Rear: Deserter RV 11-15T LTR
The fronts I can locate no problemo, but the rears are MUDDERS.. I can go with these if I see them handy in good condition and have no other options. But would prefer a all weather or street tire if possible. Got no mud tossing to do here in so cal OC
So... What would I be looking for in normal tire terminology exP235/50/15T) to fit the wheels these "mudders" are on ?
TIA
Measure your rims first. It really depends on what you want. If your staying on the street go with what you have on the front. If your going rat rod then you'll probably want something wider. It took me several weeks to decide what I wanted and I finally went with 235/75/15 all around and I really like the feel of it now. I had 31x11.50 on it before and it rode like a dumptruck.

I've got 2 66's. One has 17's on it and the other has 15's. The 15's are 235x60x15 on a
7" rim and the rears are 275x60x15 with a 8" rim. Your rear wheels look like their 8" wheels. To me the 275's fill the rear nice but don't over do it and make it look dumb IMO.
Bobby, The early 90s up to 97 had some nice looking factory wheels in a alum and chrome. Those wheel are 7.5 in wide and work fine on this series truck.
I would speculate that 90% of half ton trucks run a 235 75R 15. A 255 70 15 is about the same size but the tread foot print is wider. A 275 60 or 50 15 even wider.
What look do you want your truck to have? With the single wheel pull my truck can get into trouble on wet grass. Would mudders help maybe but then I would have to listen to extra noise all year long.
Rob that 31 11.50 15 is a LT size and is harder, so it will ride ruffer. The P metric aka P for passenger will work in most cases and provide the quieter softer ride. IMHO

Ditto John, you were on the money. Looked high and low for a matching set of AT tires to go on the rear and just about gave up. Then I spied a a late model F150 with a set of tires on the rear that matched "not AT" but.. and the other matching wheels were still up front minus tires. Grabbed a coupla tires to go on them and walla... OEM Aluminum !!
