How do I test the EVP/EGR?
I have an 88 F 150 302 and I would like to test the EVP. I think the EGR itself is good as it is clean inside and the tures are new so not plugged. The solenoid on top of the EGR i assume is the EVP. How do I test this to make sure it is working? I don't have a vacuum tester but I have a volt meter. There appears to be no difference when I pull the vacuum line off the EVP at all. That is of course at idle. If I apply vacuum to the EGR from a line run from the intake she will stall instantly so I assume the EGR is free and working. Is there a simple test to make sure the EVP is functioning?
