Man am I old!

I bought a VHS to DVD machine before Christmas and received a bunch of blank DVD's for Christmas. I've transfering all my VHS tapes to DVD.

Think that's the old part. Noooooooooo. I have a VHS tape I am copying and it had an ad to purchase more vids. Guess you'd expect that but the new vids were offered in VHS or Beta.

Man oh man am I old. Wasn't enough to see Clint, Garrett and I wheeling 20 years ago. Guess I should see if I can still get Beta tapes. Big Foot 1 was in that vid.

Just come on over and bring a wheel barrel and wheel me out and dump me in the pasture.

I took the best of three Pioneer Industrial strength VHS (100+ lbs each) and made one for my uncle to get his daughter's wedding video transferred to Vhs a few years back. The tapes were about twice the size of regular VHS tapes, they were a deck load insert, and the read head was about 6 inches in diameter. They used BNC connectors for the input and output.
They were from his church, they used to have a complete recording studio/video room in that little church. back in the day when it was installed it was state of the art. Now its 1 100+ pound vcr, and 200+ pounds of junk.

I don't remember what they were called, but remember the system that used a disc for movies that were about the size of the old LP records. My youngest brother had those back in the day. Probably in the middle to late 70's. I haven't seen those for years.

Shoot Jack, remember when 8&16 mm silent film was the cats meow for home recording. We have a bunch of those that were transferred to VHS because that was the way to save them and now that is out dated. I guess I need to get those dubbed onto a CD or DVD for the next few years until that becomes out dated.

Next thing there will be a chip implanted into us and we'll just store it all there and play it back when we want to watch an old movie or vid.

I wonder what some of you guys will have on your chips? Old cartoons, not. LOL

Yup! I have a 8mm camera. It was my grandfathers. Mom had the old tapes changed over years ago. Someone has the projector and film.

I think the future is the mega server. Or what ever it will be called. All your tv's (or whatever they will be called) and computers (or what ever they will be called) and phones (or what ever they will be called) will be linked. All your stuff will be some where else. You camera or movies will be down loaded or up loaded to your account. There will be no hard coppies of anything. Cept fer us olden folks.

Dang world is a chang'n. Went to day ta get stuff fer a little partaa. Can't get chips with trans fat these days. Took the high frutose corn syrup out of my favorite BBQ sauce. I was able to still buy cheese and bacon but wonder fer how long. Pretty soon everything you can buy will taste like a cow peed on it.

Anyone have a connection on the black market where a body kin still buy real tatar chips and BBQ sauce?

Could always make your own chips and BBQ sauce. Just buy a couple of gallons of shortening and 50#s of taters and yer ready to go.

Well guys and gal, the hotest media is Blutooth.
I still have an original Atari and tapes, I have over 500 albums
about 300 cassettes, and don't know how many CDs.
To tp that off although not have them personally at this time
I do know where at least 30 8 track tapes are too

Awww to go back to the old reel to reel tape decks. NOT.

Jack and I are just old enough to remember all that old stuff. When I was a kid you were lucky to have a radio in the car with one speaker. Everything was AM, no FM.

What's, satallite radio?

my pickup has a tube AM radio, if you want to listen to it, you gotta wait for about 3 minutes for the tubes to warm up. The put out some heat. Come to think of it so does my dad's car, and wheat truck.

First, I made a mistake, yes there is Blutooth technology
but the newest in recording and play media is Blu Ray.
I' ve had several reel to reels and still have several
turntables.
When I have time I transfer music from ione media
to another sometimes using the R/R, there's a lot to be said
about the quality and although digital is great for quality
in that it filters out noise it also filters out too much of
the quality in the peeks and valleys in that same recording.
Being the nut that I am sometimes I want those in.
