Car Security

I had a friend that used a kill switch on his old mustang. Should I consider something like that? Fuel pump cut-off?

What else is done?

Do you mean something to keep it from getting stolen, or what? If I have to leave my truck at the airport for a long time or something like that, I usually just take the rotor out of the distributor.

Yeah, I know what you mean. My method is pretty useful, until car thieves start carrying a bunch of rotors with them. But it's enough to keep the random crackhead out I think.

I have a kill switch and it's kept the pickup from "going south;)"
at least twice.

Does anyone else on here do like I do? :)

When I hear a car alarm go off I look the other way and hope it
really is being stolen. :) "go, get out of here quick, Dude! :)"

i have a audio alarm with an ignition immobilizer, a truck steering wheel club, hood is chained and locked. the trucks are parked under our motion sensor flood lights at the front of the house. our bedroom window is approx. 4 feet from my trucks hood, and our 2 rottweilers sleep next to our trucks in their kennel. the whole house and shop have a monitored security and fire alarm.i feel pretty good about our home security. if we go out, i take the dogs in the vehicles too. the dogs really are friendly,(but as most dogs )they will bark if you bug them. most people wont go near a rottweiler, much less two at a time. "Paxton", the puppy is 132 lbs. right now ,and still growing. like dirty harry asked,"you feeling lucky punk?"

I try not to park places where my baby might dissapear but if i have to, I usually pull the coil wire. And I have an alarm wired to the doors, hood, motion, and sound. Although I usually don't use that. Its way to sensitive. Never thought of pulling the rotor

I had my Dad wire in a kill switch that kills the MSD box. Easy to do and very effective. Thinking of installing a second one in a more hidden location.

the coil wire is the wire that starts from the center of the distributor, right?

fmc400, you're in Austin so I guess you go to ABIA. I wouldn't trust my truck in East Austin. that's the rough part of town.
