48 F1

So i recently got a 48 F1 with a 239 Flathead V8. its mine and my friends project truck. Yeh i know quite the project. I would have some pics but havent stole the camera from the girlfriend yet. Well we have gotten it pull apart for the most part. The question is about how long will it take a place to rebuild the flathead. me and Josh (the friend [his family is loaded]) have a guy we know that owns a good place that rebuilds engines well josh paid him half up front to rebuild it which was 1 grand. This was about 1 week ago. The guy told us it would take about 2-3 weeks for them to rebuild it. Im thinking thats kinda fast. We're planning on buying a high performance cam for it and a supercharger. so we told him to wait if he could and he said ok.

Question 1. Isnt 2-3 weeks fast for a complete rebuild of a Flatty?
2. Which Cam should i go with? There arent many choices
3 And what company is it that has the supercharger ive lost the thread of the high performance parts thread? i cant find it.

Well if for no other reason I'll add a few opinions if for no other eason to bump you back up to the top.

The amount of time it takes for rebuild your engine is directly the result of th eamount of other work they have to do in the shop. theoretically if they didn't have anythng else to do, and they have all the parts there isn't any reason they couldn't turn it around in a couple of days. If they are that available you might want to consider another shop. A couple of weeks sounds pretty good.

Cams, you're outta luck with me on that. Ask Albuq F1 (Ross), Havi, or Bobby at Bobj49f2.

There are a number of places you can get flathead info. This is one of them. Or you can go to the top of the page that lists all the posts in this forum and go to the upper right to the box that says "search this forum" and type in "supercharger."

OR you can go to the top of any page and click on "Forums" then scroll down to "Lists" and the "Flathead Engine Forum" is way down toward the bottom.

Good Luck,
Happy New Year
Julie
