To much oil....................

2002 F-350 4x4

Can to much oil in the engine damage anything?
I just checked my oil and its way over full.
Its up to the "T" in Operating.
About a inch up the dipstick from where it should be.
When the shop had my truck they must have put oil in it.

you should try and drain a little out so it reads good, the extra oil in the engine puts extra pressure on things like the rear main gasket and you dont want that to go.

Also the spinning crank will froth up the oil when it's overfilled.

Not sure how much oil it would take to hydrolock a 7.3L but hydrolocking ANY engine is BAD!

Im with clint and curtis....drain some out that way you be sure it wont cause issues.

That really sucks, take out the extra oil and ask for your money back.

YOU dont take it out, go in with the receipt, and tell someone to check your oil. Then Dont politely ask for your money back, tell them they need to drain 4 qts out and give your money back.

If you go with this idea I would like to be there to watch. That would be hilarious.
