I am going to start my conversion and build a relay harness. I will be documenting it for anyone who cares. I'll list the parts I used, ect and pictures of my assembly over the next week. I am going to take the job slow, but I was curious if anyone had tips they wanted to share.
I have Ford Factory lamps that have been waiting for PIAA to make bulbs for. I just built my pigtails, using Delphi Metripack 150 connectors which are rated to 14amps each. The fit like a charm to the stock bulbs and cost less than $6 for pair.
There is an excellent writeup on this very swap in one of this month's diesel mags. I can't remember the name but it's the issue with the greenish Super Duty King Ranch DRW on the cover.
I've read several, but I wasn't all that satisfied with the instructions. I like a different, maybe more professional layout like our N800 and N500 instructions were at old job. I have page on nearly done, and it's all about the relay harness with a picture and a diagram. If anyone wants to help proof read or an advanced copy, I can email the Publisher file I am working on.
One side down, one to go. I've got the pass side dry fitted, it still needs a little messaging to get it where I want it, and I haven't wired up the relays yet. Tomorrow, I'll do the other side and my relay harness.
