Just got back from Panama City Florida and seen this sweet shortbed Superduty in the mall. I couldn't believe it was parked in the mall. The owner must have one hell of a ride for a daily driver to leave this in the mall for advertising. I know its been done before. I seen a few drag trucks this year but that was the first 4x4 that I've seen. If anyone else has any pics of some post them cause not everybodys had the pleasure to see one.
They are all Custom. Ford never did make a shortbed Superduty. I've also seen some 2 Door Excurion Conversions. They look wierd though because of the slant at the front of the rear windows.
I'd think that a short-bed reg cab would be great for 4x4ing on tight trails. Easier to turn around in the middle of a shelf road. Easier to manoever through trees. Less jockeying on tight switchbacks. I've done some multi-point turns on switchbacks high up the sides of mountains on old mining roads, with NO trees to stop you if you screwed up. The less time spent in those situations, the better.
I'm thinking it looks pretty SWEET,,,What a truck for snowplowing, off-roading,,,short, heavyduty, I bet they would sell some if made for the Good ole USA,,,The only other short bed 3/4 ton, 4x4 pickup truck I believe was from IH. A buddy of mine had one,,big tires on it,,step side,,looked prety cool.
A used dealer fairly local to me just built one and put it up for sale. Part of his business is rebuilding wrecks so he built this one. Said he always wanted to do it to see how it would turn out.....
i used to have a chevy silverado that was a reg cab shortbed w/35" tires.gotta say it was a fun ride.of coarse that was before wife and kids.about 15 years ago.
I would have prefered a RC SB but I got a SC SB. I just think long beds look out of proportion. Every see an 04'-08' 150 RC XL with the 8' bed..... has to be one of the ugliest trucks to ever roll off the Ford line.
I would love to have a truck with the real single cab/ short bed combo. The 150s have the limp wristed 6 inch back doors on the single cabs.
I liked those little doors on the 04-08 150 RC, I drove one. Ford has removed the rear doors and cut down on the space behind the seat on the 09' RC 150s.
