I am thinking about new tires i want to go with either 33s or 35s
1. BFGoodrich Mud Terrain 33x12.50/15
2. Super Swamper SSR Radials 33x14.50/15
The BFGs would be on Eagle alloys 589 series15x10 15x12 for the SSRs.
All depends on what you are looking for. The BFG's are a good all around mud tire and they wear pretty well as highway tires. The SSR's are a good mud and off-roading tire as well, but they are a softer rubber, and even though I have not seen a set that has been on a vehicle for very long, after feeling the hardness of the rubber and hearing from other people who have ran them, I hear they are too soft and wear out rather quickly. I run a set of 36" TSL Swampers on my Dodge and my 4Runner, and they are a noisy tire. The BFG's are a quieter ride.
Another thing to think about is that Interco is making a new version of the Swamper, but the tread pattern has been tightened up and it looks more like the BFG.
Put the 35's on if you can fit them. The previous poster had it right. Those are my two favorite tires you mentioned, but it depends what you want to to with them. If you spend most of your time offroad, go with the SSRs. Otherwise go with the BFGs; they do well offroad as well and they last much longer on asphalt then the SSRs. I actually run the 35 BFG mudders on my 72 F-250...I was in mud so deep last week I couldn't open my doors and those BFGs still pulled me right through.
No not yet i havent i probibly will go with 33s its not going to see much off road for a while. When i put a lift on it its probibly going to get a air bag set up in front costs more but i want it to ride nice not like it does now with the rough country 2.5" lift kit.
Good point. Your gear ratios are always important to consider before stuffing big tires under there. One last point to ponder (though if your not going offroad you might as well go with the 33s). My buddy and I both have pretty much the same set up and same rigs, except I have the 35s and he has the 33s. Out 4 wheeling on the same run that he got stuck on I plowed through with ease, while later he miserably failed going up a hill that I had no problem with. Two inches doesn't sound like allot but they make a huge difference in the mud.
Yes it does and no it dosent when i go out playin in mud my back tires will help most people run 12.50 wide tires front and back i use my old tearra 33x16.50/15s on the back i havent found anything to stop it yet with these tires i wish i could find them new goodyear stoped makin them i guess.
