Driver Window Switch Plate

This weekend I was installing new speakers in the front doors of my Expy. The passenger side went without a flaw. I moved over to the drivers side and took the top pointed piece off behind the side mirror then removed the screw, then took the light cover off from the bottom then took the screw out. Went to pull out the piece that houses all of the window switches and other stuff and it wouldn't pop out. Got to looking and noticed it was glued just under the lip towards the back of the door....the end where the window lock switch is. After carefully pulling it lose, I noticed that the clip on the under side that holds it in the door is broken off.....completely.

I guess I can find one at a local yard or something. I don't really care to glue it back down, as the window motor is sharing some sounds of wear.

I just wanted to vent to someone. So, you're welcome!

I had a the same thing happen to me. I had to get a broken drivers door window replaced, when pulling the widow switch plate they broke one of the tabs off. They stuck it back on with some black goowie stuff. I know it was them because I pulled it off before having them replace the window, and it wasn't that way. It was six months since having them replacing the window that I came across it, so I figured I wouldn't have a chance going back to them, so I went and got one from a junk yard. Needless to say I was upset with them not telling me about it. There, now I vented also.

There is one more screw holding the door panel. When you remove the door handle you will see it holding a tab on the door panel.

How much was the one you picked up at the yard?

Tell me more about this, please. I don't have anything left under there to hook to.

Yep, seen it and removed it. You have to remove it to get the door panel off.
