I have done the procedure to disable the Belt minder on my 2007 Ranger 4x4 4.0L, But It worked only on the driver side.. I mean when I'm on my seat the belt minder never comes up but when my girlfriend sit on the passenger side it began to ring ans the minder light flash.. Is it possible or I made something wrong ????
The procedure I made was the following:
truck to neutral, door closed , ignition off, all belts un-buckled,
turn the key to ON but don't start, wait until belt light come OFF and then within 50 sec. buckle and un-buckle the driver belt 9 time finishing by un-buckle...
The belt light is On for 3 sec and within 10 sec buckle and un-buckle the driver once....
the belt light flash 12 time to confirm that is has worked..
I did'nt missed any step of the procedure and the ligth has really flashed 12 times to confirm that is had worked.. But why does it only work on the driver side...
Still, it shouldn't matter if there's someone in the passenger seat. Mine doesn't ding for either. Before I turned it off, the passenger seat wouldn't cause it to ding anyway, occupied or not.
