just traded for a new electric and max i can get out of it is 6 psi, their looking for another one.

I have owned 1 460 stock and 1 built 429cj niether one of these would keep the carb full through a 1/4 mile at wot 2 of my friends got brand new ones in 76 same thing mine I got new in 79 stock pumps will not keep up at wot.
ON the motorhomes I could not get the right pump at the parts house or the dealers I always had to order them out of the warehouse in OK city.

OK I called the manufactor of the electric fuel pump I purchased at Advance, and the man said the pump they sold me would never handle any engine over a 350. I asked him what they meant by 5.5 to 9 psi, or what would be a good example or safe to say will it give me 7 psi or 6 or 8, he said to many variables do I really have 12 volts constant ? Anyhow he said the pump they sold me was the wrong one, no matter if it pumps 9 psi all the time it will never keep up with a 460 as it is only rated at 1 gpm. He gave me a part # for one that is rated at 5psi but 5gpm and said I will have no problems what so ever, if I do he will come to my home and change it out. He guarentees me I need psi, its gpm for the 460. We will see tomorrow.

So when you jump on that truck your really gonna be able to watch that gauge go from F to E huh? haha goodluck!

I can only hope that will happen. I happen to be one of those very lucky people that has a company owned vehicle to drive to and from work so I only drive my personal trucks about 2000 miles a year, my car is a Jetta diesel and it gets 48 mpg so the truck can get 5 and would not hurt my feelings at all, it just needs to run right.
