New Shocks?
I have a 1990 f250 and it rattles too. I replaces the shocks with munroes (proably a bad choice, but cheap) and no change. it still rattles. the rattle seems to be coming from the right--happens more if I go over a bump witht he right front tire than the left front. Also with someone else driving and me sitting on the right I can feel it in the floor.
The front end is also tight--ball joints, tie rods, sway bar (just got it alligned and it checked out fine).
anyone have any ideas?
The process is not for the faint of heart. You must first burn the rivets out of the frame where the bracket is secured, then replace the bushings. And by all means use grade 8 bolts when you put it back together.
I changed out my bushings because they started to look kind of raggedy, turns out they were more raggedy than I thought. after I replaced them the truck handled much better, and that annoying clunk was gone.
Another thing, do you hear a clinking ype of noise when you turn corners at slow speeds (15 - 20)? That could more than likely be anti rattle clips on your brake pads! Mine drove me insane for almost 3 years until I found that.
Just a couple of pointersm hopefully they'll point you in the right direction.
