im with you chris, i did mine on the work bench. i'd hate to try and torque the wheel down while laying on the engine. its only a few more bolts mate and a lot more comfortable on the work bench.. and you can relax and have a beer while doing it..

did mine in the truck, not bad at all. Its held together for about 10,000 km so far without problems. From what i understand, the wheel spinning tightens it to the proper torque anyways.

Xtreme Diesel's X-Wheel Compressor Wheel

I think Ill be picking one up ASAP!
They're not all the same price, some places have them as high as $120.

I did mine on the truck and it took about 6 hours. (I was incredibly sore the next day) I watched that video on youtube with that guy "Scuffy". Very detailed video, but the way he did it made it seem like it only took 15 maybe 30 mins. If I ever see this guy out in public.....

Fyi, MAKE SURE you have a 12 point socket for the Turbo, I forget what size it is, but it won't work with a 6 point socket. Found that out the hard way....

They do have them differently priced, shop around, seen them as low as 60.00 buck but be careful, call them and ask if they have them in stock first, i ordered mine from a vendor here and after i paid for it they said i'll get it a month later, they never updated their web-site to backorder status so i ordered from somebody else but they charged my account a service fee. As for the socket, i found out the hard way too. Did mine on the truck, no problems, just take your time.

It's a 5/16ths 12pt. I was able to do it on the truck with a 3/8ths drive by taking out the hp oil plug that's right by that lower rear bolt with a wobble extension or universal, I can't remember right now. I had to go get a 1/4" drive 5/16ths 12pt anyway when I rebuilt the van turbo. The 3/8ths doesn't fit into the access holes in the oil housing to get the exhaust housing off. . Go ahead and get the 1/4 drive version -- it might save you a trip later. I had to run out and hit Sears the day after Thanksgiving to get that little bugger, and I SWORE I was going to break it, but it got those friggin' nearly welded bolts out!!

I'd look at an ATS housing. IMO its the better solution.
