mwvdub, did you have to drill for your bolt pattern with the Wilwood kit or do you have one different from 5 x 5.5? Thanks.
That is one thing I forgot about. The kit we bought is for the big bearing ford housing with 5X5 chevy pattern with 5/8 wheel studs. I am not completely happy with the kit for this reason.
Bought a 76 lincoln for a $100 back in 93 that had a 460 with disc brakes on the rear end. Still have the motor, trans, and rearend. Have used the exhaust manifolds, and the gears on my 73 tbird. Still want to upgrade to the disc brake rearend for my tbird. Some day I will.
To swap the disc brakes to another car takes some planning. IRC the tbird is a different wheel pattern than the Lincoln. You will have to take the axleshafts out, press the bearing off both shafts, put the backing plate on your shaft, press on a new bearing, reinstall the shaft. You might need to put a larger flange on the end of your axle tube, I tried this on a 79, and was stopped dead in my tracks when I got to this detail. Same details go for a truck.
IRC the T-Bird is a different wheel pattern than the Lincoln.
No they aren't.
1973/76 T-Bird & Lincoln Continental Mark IV wheel specs:
15" x 6.00" / 5 lug, 5.00" bolt circle.
------------------------------------
1973/79 Lincoln Town Car wheel specs: Same as above.
The 5.00" bolt circle wheels interchange between: 1973/78 LTD & Mercury Marquis / 1973/76 T-Bird / 1973/76 Continental Mark IV / 1973/79 Lincoln Town Car / 1977/79 Continental Mark V.
With rear drum brakes or rear disc brakes makes no difference.

All 1973/74: T-Birds & Continental Mark IV's came with rear drum brakes.
1975/76 Birds: Rear drum brakes were standard, rear disc brakes were optional.
1975/76 Continental Mark IV: Rear discs were standard equipment, the disc brake parts are the same as the T-Birds used.

But, they are not the same parts as T-Bird's & Continental Mark IV's.
