Hey ck. out my gaint shop clock on my 59 panel gallery. I made it from a 54" saw mill blade. The pendulum works separately from the clock. My s-i-l told me I must be getting old if I needed a clock that big and a telephone ringer like car lots used to have, upper rt. side of pic with eyes and teeth. The clock sits on a 3x12 pine base with pendulum.
Hey you gotta have a little fun.
Mike
Hey Chief,
Yes it works great, the movement is A/C and designed for long hands, the 17" ( I think) hands were the longest ones in the clock catalog. The pendulum is battery operated and basically is just an electormagnetic field with the pendulum rod passing through it. It posted in the local paper once as the largest clock in the county. some a taller, on post. but not 54" wide, I got the idea from the Sears and HF clocks in 10-12" blades and just got a little carried away.

Thanks 48fordcoe for posting that for me, I've read through the instructions but still have not got the hang of the post. Thanks for all the comments
The clock is resting on 2 upright 3x12 with one 3x10 cut on a 45 sitting horizontal on top. I notched the horz. pc. on the table saw so the blade would not kick out at the bottom. Two men could pick the blade up but I got ready to set it my small wife and small grown daughter said we don't need no one else. we can do it--by gosh we did it. I was recovering from knew surg. and that was fun. The blade is screwed to a 2x4 block that is screwed to the wall at about 11 and 1 o'clock spots. In tribute to all the "Killroy was here stories" Dad told me after WWII in Europe. I added the Killroy to the top, this made the entire clock 8 ft. This is in my woodworking shop. I'm still shade treeing the trucks but shopping for a building. acutally not shadetreeing----the leaves fell off.The timbers came from scrap from the floor framing of a Methodist Church beside the NC State Capitol building, the timbers were milled and grade marked from Sav. Ga.
It was a fun project
