#4 misfire again

#4 misfire again, I am looking at the normal things that can cause it. This cylinder is the one that always codes and misfires on me. I have replaced the coolant line and put double platinum plugs in approximately 4K ago. Replaced that wire, not the boot any ideas? Do the coils really fail this often? Should I upgrade to a higher performance COP/wire boot combination? Are the valves becoming a problem? Like the rig, heard the engine will last 300K from a ford tech. Any ideas/solutions will be well appreciated. As always thank you in advance.

First of all make sure no coolant is going into that hole. I check by getting a heavy duty paper towel (cheap ones will tear easy) and cut one sheet into 1/2 wide stripes. Get a long narrow flathead and push the strip down into the hole. Pack it down there around the base of the spark plug. Bring it up and see if it is wet. If it is not, you know coolant/moisture is not probably an issue.

I would only replace these plugs with Motorcraft SP-479's. Another problem is if the spring ever does not connect into the coil it can fry it. I think I had that problem with some of mine when I pulled the springs off the coils to clean the springs off good. When I put them back on some were loose and I don't think made contact totally.

I think you just need the right plugs and new coil with very little dielectric grease around it and your problem should be solved if it is not a moisture problem.
