i Have an 1982 f-250 4x4. i was trying to figure out the front and rear gear ratios but could not find these anywhere. On the door jam the axle code reads
C72 6G8
But i took the badge off the rear diff and it read
3 54 E2TA TB
605086-6 LS
Could someone please decode this for me.. Thanks alot
You have a semi float Dana 60 in the rear, with 3.54 gears and a limited slip, and from that axle code(C72) you have a limited slip front also, probably a 44HD judging by the light rear axle in that truck.
If you have a LS front and rear you are pretty lucky. I wish mine had a LS in both axles.
He lives in Canada, so I assume he will get to drive it in the snow. I would like for him to write back in with his experiences with it since it has the limited slip in the front.
hay sorry guys i've been busy trying to get it running.. it is kind of just a donor truck.. bought it for the engine but after hearing its front and rear LS trying to get it running.. just rebuilt the starter yesterday... its been too damn cold here to put it back on! as soon as its running ill fill you guys in how it is!
