I have a 73 f100 and last year I had the king pins replace and the axle pivot and drag link and not long after I had this done the king pins felt lose agin should there be and play in the king pins at all or is a little play normal. Also not my tire are wearing on the outside again what would I need to do to fix this someone told me to have the I beams bent I am considering just replacing everything under there that will come off would replacing the I beams be a good Idea is there a website that sell
front end rebuild kits for my truck and a good shop manual for instruction would be helpful if someone could recommend a good one.I figure the best way to get it done is to do it myself.
If the outsides of your tires are wearing, either you have too stiff springs in front, or the alignment is off. Minimal play in the king pins is normal, VERY minimal.
I took it down to see about an alignment and the told me the wheel bearings on the passanger side was very loose and that I needed to fix that before he could do anything. well I checked and repacked the bearings but they were fine it must be the king pin pretty loose at that the other side is fine very little play but the passanger side has a lot anyways I am going to try to replace this one side king pin but have never done this before I have a haynes manual to help along but I have heard that there are two differnt types. Is the pins the same on all kinds and the bushing are differnt or are the pins diffent to for example I heard there are a broze and a neopreme are the pins broze and neopreme to or are they all the same also I was told if I do the broze I have to hone it out but if I do the neopreme I dont.what do you think
