Manual Trans Filter found

OK guys I RUMAGING around on the net and found this generic manual trans filter................it looks like it is metal box that fits on the place where the pto covers goes. It has what looks like a cotton filter that fits inside this housing and then a plate with holes in it over that and the whole thing attaches to the place where the pto cover goes.........anyone ever use one of these.......or any thoughts on it being any good or a good idea.........

correct me if i'm wrong, the only thing to filter out of a manual trans is metal shavings and the magnet collects most of that . regular fluid changes is all you need. really no need for a filter.

A lot of the filings in a manual are brass from the synchronizers. The magnet isn't going to hold those.

Having said that, I can't see how this filter would catch those.

The filter would just get whatever the PTO Gear splashes on it I would think, and that probably wont be brass.

The only usefull way I see to "filter" is though the drain and fill holes with a pump or something. But then, that might create more heat in your tranny.
So then you'd have to add on another cooler, and then you have an extra 2... whatever.
