I got it mounted today, but haven't plumbed it yet. I put a 6.9 filter ahead of my stock 7.3 filter. My original intent was to allow the 6.9 filter to clean the fuel enough that the 7.3 filter wouldn't have much to do, other than act as a water separator. Right now, I have a NAPA 3403 filter on it. The 3403 is twice the length of the standard 6.9 filter. I was surprised to find that there was plenty of room for it. For right now, my heater hose is routed between the two filters. The only problem I ran into, is the A/C line. It is a bit snug, but it runs over the new filter head. I cut a piece of old air hose, to protect it from rubbing through. I will have pictures tomorrow.

Best price I could get on the 33617 was $36.. That was with the railroad's account.
Here are the pictures I promised, of my second fuel filter. It's the 6.9 head and a NAPA 3403 filter. I like this filter, because it is almost twice as long as the stock size filter.
The heater hose will be rerouted, when I do my coolant filter mod. I used 3/8" air hose, to make a chaffing block for the A/C line. In retrospect, I should have just made the filter and mount a bit lower.
The clamps on the battery terminal, are because I drained the batteries trying to start it. I was getting ready to take it for a test drive, after the carrier bearing/U-joint repair.
yea i've put coolant filters on all of my equipment even on my wifes explorer. on all of my diesels i use the precharged filters(89071,89072,89073), on the gas burners I use just the blank filter.(89070) i love them. i put little 1/4 turn valves on them for filter changes. (I think wix should send them in the kit)
if your truck doesn't have cruise you can use that mounting tab on the drivers side fender.
i use carquest filters if you can't tell already.
that 86403 is a 10 micron filter you can also use 86338 in place of it and its a 6 micron filter
the way it looks you have your fuel setup the first filter stops everything and all the stock one does is a water seperator.
that a international truck 6.9 filter base ain't it
