second, I'm getting ready to replace all the tie-rods and drag link on my '03 F-250 4x4... these are new heavy duty parts from Spicer... just wondering how much torque is required for each castle nut... also, do I install them first THEN grease them or vice versa?.... thanks in advance
Grease when you are done. There is a torque spec, I think it is like 50 ft lbs then to the next slot to insert the cotter key. honestly I never torque them, tighten them down and then to the next closest. They tighten up pretty quickly. You have to worry about splitting the knuckle on cars with aluminum knuckles but not on a superduty.
sweet... thats what I need to know... now all I hope is that my grease gun has enough grease for all the tie-rod ends, lol... and hopefull this will get rid of all the steering issues I've had with the truck since I got it... maybe even eliminate the death wobble I had without the steering stabilizers?
