leveling coils and 32" BFG's

I have a 1996 F150 2wd with p235/75R15 and I would like to put some bigger tires on preferably some all terain 32" BFG's. I think i can fit them on the rear find with no suspension modifications but what about the front? I think it would rub some. I have had some people tell me that i need a 4 inch lift to fit 32" tires and some tell me that i don't. I was thinking that maybe all I need it a leveling kit for the front and I should be able to fit some 32" BFG's on it. What do ya'll think? I don't plan on doing off roading or mudding or any real serious 4x4 because i can't. I just want some bigger tires and and a little bit higher ride just for looks. If any of that helps.

I am not sure if the 2wd and 4wd suspension's are the same but here is the info I can give you. I have a 1995 F-150 4x4. I had 31"x10.5" tires on the truck with the stock suspension setup. I have seen trucks identical to mine except with the 1.5" leveling coils and they can run 32x11.5" tires no problem. There is one in the photo gallery of this site. I have since added leveling coils to my truck and a 3" body lift that basically gives the truck a nice 4.5" lift all together and i clear 33x12.5" tires with no trouble at all, I could fit 35"s on in too, but i would have to make them a bit narrower then otherwise they would rub.

95XLTMud,

I also have a 95 F-150 4x4 with 31's on it. I am told that 32x10.5 will fit under a stock suspension. I am also told that 33 x 12.5 will fit with a 1.5" leveling coils, which is what I would like to do. Did you have to replace your shocks with the leveling coils? I just put 4 Rancho RS-9000's up front, and I really don't want to change them if I can help it.
For your 33's, are you running the factory rims? Any rubbing?
This is going to be my next area I tackle on my truck, so I need all info I can get!

I am in the same boat as you. got a '95 F-150 4x4 with 31's on it now... I am wanting 33x12.5's... I was thinking about a 2-3" suspension lift. I do go off road a lot and I dont want to bang anything up too much. The only problem is actually finding a decent 2-3" suspension lift kit. And 4" is a little more than I want to go, although I may have to... the girlfriend is short, so no matter what I end up doing I am going to be in trouble.

I am new to this board but have seen a lot of discussion about leveling coils. I am planning on doing this to my 93 F150 2wd, does anyone have any information on where these coils can be ordered from and prices. Web sites would be good. Thanks in advance for the information.

Hey everybody. I have put five lifts on these F-150 2wd's. I've mostly used the Tuff Country 2 1/2" kit with good results. It's enough for 33's and keeps the good ride. The same kit will fit the 2wd or the 4wd, the only difference is you will have to buy 2 bolts 3/4" by either 10 or 12" long. These are needed to bolt the springs to the 2wd front beams. Everything else is a bolt on.They look like 4x4's when your done, cool. Hope this helps.

Own a 95 f150 4x4 Shortbed with quad shocks in front. Just installed a Tuff Country 2 1/2 lift and new Weld 8x15 Sidewinders, 32-11.5-15 Bridgestone Duelers, and Pro-comps 9000 series shocks. Couple of thoughts. Backspacing on the rims is approx. 3.6 in. Had some rubbing on the front bumper skirt while turning. Corrected with 3/8 washer spacing to pull bumper away from truck. Make sure to tighten all bolts to factory specs when installing lift. Be sure to take to competent alignment shop for initial and follow up check at approx. 1000 mi. Be sure to have access to metric and standard sockets and wrenches to do the job. Found excellent customer service at both Tuff Country and 4-Wheel Parts Wholesalers for info. The 2 1/2 in. lift makes for a nice classy truck whithout to much lift and does not take away to much performance from the 302/EAOD.
