they just had a pair of teenagers that had to get picked up in pieces and scooped up with shovels after wrecking a supercharged mustang when it blew a tire at over a hundred mph. On the other side of the argument my first car was a 68 camaro that I got when I was fifteen and I still have and I am now 32. Although it is alot faster now, but back when I drove it everyday I knew if it broke i could not afford to fix it, so I was pretty responsable in it.

This week we had four local teenagers hurt bad in a high-speed roll-over accident. (Only one car involved) The driver was belted in but the other three were ejected onto the road. I'll bet that all of their parents would have said their kids were safe and that nothing like that could ever happen to them! Kids will be kids and they have bad things happen that bring very expensive lessons.

My buddy has reconsidered giving his 15-year-old grand daughter his 56 effie. At least for know. She'll get it when he passes on; hopefully when she's about 35. Jag

id go with no.
im 21 and i had a 02 mustang gt when i was 18 that thing had power. i can remember a night when it had rained i was showing off at a light when i overcorrected and ran into the median and cracked my 2 back rims. i did a lot worse in that car and got very lucky in a lot of cases. (i installed a police raido in it and would blurp other cops) sold it to my friend that turned it into a svt clone and the court made him sell it. my son/doughter IF i ever have one will get a little 4 bangger when that time comes

I say NO. Teens do not need a muscle car. Despite their desires to have one. They just do not have the driving experience, or the maturity to handle one safely.

I have to go with the it depends on the kid and the parents. I have four boys and all had small first vehicles and developed there habits that way. all learned to appreciate being mobile then went from there. with todays pier pressure and just the way life is for them, its got to be hard to be good...was bad enough way back when. so I say training wheels first.

I'd say no to the first car then after he/she shows responsibility, yes. Seen too many kids around here wreckin'.

Thanks, PK
