Well, I've been sick for @ 5 weeks now, had walking pneumonia, worked thru it. Went to the doctors 4x and had several courses of meds, but I'm a tough guy- gotta keep working right? So I still have bad coughing spells, almost what I'd call spasms, which keep my rib muscles nice and tender. Driving the wife around this morning doing some last minute shopping, had a coughing fit while driving( approx. 35-40 mph) and must have blacked out. When I came to, I hear my wife yelling at me and at the same time I plow into the guy in front of me in his 09 Honda Accord at a stop light. Both airbags go off in our Ex but not in the Honda. Guy in Honda is understandably pissed, as I'm trying to regain my senses he's spouting expletives. Honda only has 3k miles on it, busted his rear-end up pretty good. Ex fared pretty damn well considering a 40 mph crash and I never touched the brakes. Everybody is OK, I'm surprisingly not even sore-right now. Drove the Ex to the next few stops ( she drove, wouldn't let me) and all seems well, just front bumper busted up a little and a crack in the grille. I feel REAL bad for the guy's new car, but at least everybody is OK. What a way to start the Holidays!
Yeah I have to agree with EVERYTHING you said, at least until I whip this miserable sickness. Gotta drive the Ex to church tonight with the airbags stuffed back into their respective spots (she's not comfortable driving my truck only being 5'2"). Man I can still taste that nasty stuff that propels the airbags. What is that stuff anyway? I sat in the car for @ 2 min breathing that stuff in, rolled down the windows but it was raining pretty good. Thank God everyone is OK, could've been worse. Then, while the cop was taking our info, another 2 cars kinda sideswiped each other in front of our accident. What a day.
Thanks for all the well wishes, guys. We appreciate it. First accident in 22 years of driving. Please DO drive safely this holiday season. Ya never know when something like this can happen. And wear your seatbelts, everyone involved was and I believe thats why we were all OK.
Yeah you're absolutely right there! As much as she's been complaining about this Explorer lately, I believe she'll ease off on it a bit now. I really am surprised it did as well as it did. Its no SD but still...
Here's a pic I took this morning. Not too bad, I guess I'll have to wait until the body shop looks at it and see what they might find- I'm no expert! Headlight is out but hi beam and driving light still work.
