Probably the stupedist question ever, but what is the little screen-like thing sticking up, on top of the steering column, just to the right of the hazards switch?? Im guessing something to do with the climate control or automatic headlamps, but what do I know...
Sorry I took so long. I can see an oval area in the OEM service manual but there isn't any description of it.
Maybe a vent for the multi-function switch assy.
A picture is woth a thousand words, but my guess is either the sun load sensor (which is on the top of the dash) or the vehicle temperature sensor (which will face you on the dash) and this is only if you have EATC.
Actually, I found the "eye" for the headlights up on the dash near the windsheild...so Im guessing it must be something to do with the temp, like trucker said. Just a really weird place to put it...
Noone else has this thing on their steering column?
Ill post a pic of it tomorrow....
