look at your left rear taillight bulb. i have seen the filament brake and lay over on the other wire inside the bulb and cause a back feed.

YES absolutley, check to see if there is any signs of water dripping on the fuse panel. If there is, replace it and check for a windshield leak on the drivers side. there was a problem with the windshield sealent ford used on certain F series trucks from 97 thru early 04. If this is the case have the windshield replaced with the fuse panel.

well the windshield was replaced before i got the truck (i.e. no super duty at the rear view) but the black weather stripping or trim didn't get put back in right i have since corrected but this could've caused the fuse panel to wig out ???

The outside weather stripping should not cause a leak, the butal seal and primer was the problem. if the panel saw water the multilevel copper strips in the panel will start to rust and expand, causing then to short together and reaking havic on any and all circuits in it's path.

I have also have a problem with my lights.
When the light switch is in the auto position and it is pulled out so the driving lights are on. The driving lights come on when the brakes are applied.

This only happens during the daylight when the auto lights are off.

I learned of this when I got stopped for flashing the FHP trooper that I was behind. Apparently every time he slowed I would hit my brakes and flash him.

That is most likely a bad ground on one of the taillight sockets or a crossed filament in one of the bulbs. Our trucks use push-in bulbs and the ground connection is a small pin on the socket/bulb.
