My buddy has a 1998 F-150 4x4 with the 4.2 V-6, the truck wont turn over and he has been told that the truck has water on top of one of the pistons causing this.I havent looked at the truck since this has happened so I cant tell you what the mechanic has done to verify this, or if its just a guess. He told my buddy that these engines are notorious for cracked heads. Is there any truth to them having bad heads? If so where can he get a set of aftermarket heads?
My little brothers truck started blowing antifreeze out the side, he said it looks like its coming from the head gasket. This is making me wonder even more about the 4.2 heads. His truck is a 1999 F-150 2wd. Is this a common problem with these trucks? Thanks in advance
