VIN Help
I have what I believe is a 1979 Ford F-100 Supercab with a 351M and C-6 trans. I have been told that Ford did not make a Supercab F-100 the emblems on my truck say otherwise. My VIN is X10HKFE3085. In the sites I have seen none of the VIN numbers start with an X.

Are you sure it is an X? I put your number in the VIN decoder oon this site and it comes back unknown. Recheck it and check the warranty plate in the door, hopefully the numbers match. Post all the info on here and we will get it all decoded for you. There is a guy on here that can find the number info on Henry Ford's first car.

H = 351M 2V.
K = Kansas City Assembly Plant
FE3085 = 1979
If it was a Regular Cab pickup, the VIN would begin with F10.

Did'ja know that the first Ford Motor Company (1902) didn't produce a single car?
Henry left the company before a single car was produced. Henry Martyn Leland was hired as the new chief engineer and CEO.
The first thing Leland did was to change the company name. He named it after the founder of Detroit: Walter de la Motte CADILLAC.
In 1916, Leland left Cadillac, started a new company, naming it after his favorite president: Abraham LINCOLN.
Lincoln went bankrupt in 1921. Henry Ford bought the company for 7 million dollars in 1922.
