The only problem with it beeing in a driver is whipping into a local napa etc. and needing a waterpump.
Perkins is owned by CAT. We get most of our parts through the CAT dealer here. If your Napa leans a bit toward the industrial side, they should be able to get you most anything you want.
The problem is you never know where I am going to be I have a little perkins off of a reefer unit that I'm thinking about using in my cj but it wont be a cross country rig and wont kill me if I have to wait on parts.
Massey Fergeson uses Perkins engines in all of their equipment.
The 354 is in MF 1100 and bigger tractors.
When we were farming we used Fergesons, good engine till it broke, then it took forever to get parts.
A second downside, they were all governed to 2100 RPM's, whick would work out to about 60 MPH with 3.55 gears and direct drive trannies.

lol no i just seen a daily driver with 950hp and it still got 15mpg.as much as i love these idi's they cant make that power.i would much rather drive my idi but would love to kill all these ricers that think they are bad with a big diesel.not that mine hasnt ran one before and came out on top but some of those things are really fast.i wouldnt trade my idi for nothin though

i call bull sh** on the 1200 yards can you hit a pop can at 1200 yds?until that happens its not good that far and you hit it consistently if my .338 cant i doubt a little m14 will
