Help! Old Blue gettin' rusty
My '78 F-100 needs a paint job badly. Problem is lack of funds right now. I have no garage so she is exposed to the elements 24/7. I'm concerned about the bed rails rusting. The paint is chipping off and I'm getting some serious rust. Is there something I can do to stop or slow it down until I can get it painted?

It's butch, but if you just want to stop it until a real paint job, sand off the rust, buy some rustoleum primer and hose it down. You might even get some paint that (more or less) matches.
The problem you will have, if you are like me, is that then it won't match completely, and will drive you nuts. Next thing you know, you will be repainting the whole thing
