I haven't been on in awhile.I finally got around to getting the truck running.I gave up on removing the broken exhaust manifold bolt and just put it all back together.I took the battery to the Auto parts store and had them put a charge on it.I threw it back in,threw in some gas,and after a couple minutes of persuasion, she fired up.My poor mom happened to be standing next to the truck when it fired, and she just about jumped over the moon since it's so loud.I had a buddy over today and when I fired it up his mouth pretty much dropped. He was expecting it to sound like it did before when it had exhaust. It sounds pretty mean.I made a video of it right after I started it up for the first time. The video doesn't do it justice as the video was made with a digital camera, but you can kinda tell. Here's the link to the vid... Some of my older videos are also on there under other videos...use them to compare.
I've also decided to do a custom touch on my interior.I'm gonna change the interior color to black with woodgrain gauge/radio panels, and hopefully door panels.I was looking around at 92-96 Conversion trucks and saw how some of the plastic pieces like the XLT strip on the front of the dash were switched to wood. That's when I got the idea for wooden door pulls. The vinyl ones on my truck are crap, and I think wood will look a thousand times better.I'm gonna get with my Shop teacher when school lets back in and start workin on them.I'll post ics when I get done.Has anybody done this before?I'm pretty sure someone has.If so and if you have pics,do you think you can post them up so I can see what they look like? Thanks.
