Cold Start - Strange Noise
Down to 5 degrees this morning in Pittsburgh. I did not plug the block heater in last night and started it after the glow plugs cycled. Cranked right up with a noise which sounded like a hydraulic pump cavitating, squeel-whine type noise. Dont think it was the turbo cause it was immediately when it started. After 2 seconds or so it went away. Nothing strange after that...just wondering what that noise was. Any suggestions?

Mine makes the same sound when it's really cold. I've never had any problems but have not investigated it at all though. I just figured the truck was pissed cause it was so cold. (just kidding)
